2025 Tournament Season in Full Swing
HJTEP's student-athletes have been making big moves on the court this spring competing in tournaments across the region and bringing home some serious hardware.
Our 16 & Under teams were represented with pride at the USTA 2025 Eastern Team Sectional Championships held at Sportime Randall’s Island in New York, NY (May 17–18):
Team Triumphs
🥇 Advanced Champions: Samantha Hill, Savannah Minter, Hugo Chouteau-Deborde, Michael Kaplan, and Sean Francia-Cotter led the 16 & Under Level 5 team to an incredible Championship win.
🥈 Intermediate Finalists: Bintu Drame, Kaya Ollivierre, Hunter Davis, and Sandro Linares finished strong as finalists in the 16 & Under Level 6 division.
Individual Highlights
🎾 Amanda Marcano-James had a standout season, winning the L3 12 & Under Team Event in Manchester, MA (May 3–5) and clinching the Girls’ 12’s Singles title at the L5 BG12, 16 & 18’s Championship in Virginia Beach, VA (April 12–13).
🏆 Savannah Minter continued a strong spring, earning the Girls’ 16’s title at the L6 NYTC Clay Courts in Bronx, NY (April 11–13), and reaching the semifinals of the L5 Open Girl’s 16’s at CourtSense at Bogota Racquet Club in NJ (May 2–4).
🎾 Kenny Ito was a finalist at the USTA Junior Circuit: 10U Boys & Girls Green Ball tournament at Fort Lee Racquet Club, showcasing determination, growth, and a love for the game.
These performances reflect the passion, persistence, and progress of HJTEP’s student-athletes. From singles victories to team triumphs, these young competitors are proving they are a force to be reckoned with, and the season has just begun!
