Important Application Note:
Due to high demand, all applicants will initially be placed on a waitlist upon submission. We strongly encourage families to still apply, as our team will actively review waitlisted applicants and invite eligible students for evaluations on a rolling basis. Placement in the 2026 summer program will be offered based on evaluation results and space availability.

Priority of Acceptance:

• Returning students
• Residents of Harlem
• Remaining slots offered on a first-come, first-served basis

If space is available, applicants will be invited in for a tennis skill-based evaluation. Depending on the size of the group they are eligible for, the applicant may be offered a space for the 2026 summer program. Students must be able to attend all days scheduled for their group. Applicants will be notified if offered an evaluation, accepted, or remaining on the waitlist.

HJTEP presents two unique and comprehensive summer camp experiences, each meticulously designed to cater to varying skill levels and developmental stages. 

Grassroots - 135th Street Camp: This camp is geared toward younger players or players at the beginner/developing level in the Grassroots 1 and Grassroots 2 programs. This camp offers a foundational approach to tennis, focusing on developing fundamental skills, fostering a passion for the sport, and creating a fun, supportive atmosphere.

• Location: Howard Bennett Playground (West 135th St. between 5th and Lenox Aves.)
• Camp Dates: June 29 to August 21, 2026 (8 weeks)
• Schedule: Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Camp Cost: $480 per week, $2,750 for eight weeks of full-day participation, or $1,680 for eight weeks of half-day participation.
• Commitment Requirement: This camp requires a minimum of 3 weeks' attendance and incorporates an educational component into its daily schedule. Please note that the full-day option is not available for the 5–7 age group; half-day attendance is required.

Tournament Training Camp (TTC) - Fordham University: This camp is tailored for dedicated and competitive players from the Futures, Intermediate, High Performance 1, and High Performance 2 programs. TTC delivers intensive tennis training, emphasizing advanced techniques, strategic match play, and tactical refinement, coupled with an enriching educational component focused on academic growth and character development. Campers will enjoy access to Fordham University's top-tier facilities, with convenient transportation provided from the Harlem Armory Center.

• Location: Fordham University – Rose Hill Campus (Bronx, NY)
• Camp Dates: June 22 to August 20, 2026 (9 weeks)
• Schedule: Monday to Thursday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Camp Cost: A three-week session is $2,250, while the complete nine-week program costs $5,250.
• Commitment Requirement: This camp is divided into three distinct, non-divisible three-week sessions. Participants must commit to a minimum of three weeks, with the option to attend all nine.

Both camps prioritize a holistic developmental approach, seamlessly blending tennis instruction with educational enrichment to ensure a well-rounded and impactful summer experience.

All new students will undergo an evaluation by HJTEP staff to determine their appropriate placement.
