2026 US Open Highlights

US Open weeks are always busy! HJTEP’s kids had a great time participating in events throughout the tournament.

Stars of the Open (Presented by Chase): Mohammed Drame, HJTEP’s High Performance 1 player played on court at Arthur Ashe Stadium during Stars of the Open. He won a point against ATP World #6, Flavio Cobolli. The crowd went wild, and clips of his point went viral across the US Open, USTA, and ESPN social channels.

The US Open Lemonade Stand: Emerie Mahase, HJTEP’s Futures player, was back at the lemonade stand serving drinks to the players. She was much more comfortable chatting with the pros this year, having great conversations with Taylor Townsend and Coco Gauff, and even making a friendship bracelet for Ben Shelton. Emerie also was the granted the opportunity of asking US Open Singles Champion Elena Rybakina the first question at the championship press conference. Elena even allowed Emerie to hold and pose with her championship trophy!

Net Generation Demo: On September 4, HJTEP youth took center stage for an exciting Net Generation demo, showing the crowd how fun and accessible tennis can be with pop-up nets, smaller rackets, and red low-compression balls. The players showed off their footwork and control in front of the crowd, with Futures player Ava Watkins taking on a special starring role by conducting the official coin toss on court!

Wilson On-Court Clinic at Arthur Ashe Kids' Day: On August 23, 20 of our HJTEP youth kicked off U.S. Open festivities during Arthur Ashe Kids' Day. After visiting the Wilson store on site and watching the pros practice, our kids took to the court for a special clinic hosted by Wilson alongside Clervie Ngounoue, Katrina Scott, and Kayla Day, enjoying hands-on drills and tips from the pros!
