Harlem on the Block & Harlem Week Clinics
Leading up to the US Open, our coaches were actively engaged in introducing young people to tennis at ‘Harlem on the Block,’ joining All-Love Racquet Club and USTA Eastern at the Marcus Meets Malcolm (MMC) block party and tennis clinic event on Saturday, August 16. Dozens of Harlem children of all ages picked up a racquet, learned the fundamentals, and enjoyed playing tennis in their community, many for the very first time.
That same day, HJTEP also brought our annual free tennis clinic to the Harlem Week Children’s Festival on 135th Street, where our summer camp home courts came alive with energy, laughter, and competition.
