Serving the Community
The weather was no obstacle for Pyper last weekend. On January 24, she showed up with purpose, serving the community alongside Cabrini Immigrant Services.
At HJTEP, community engagement is a core part of our mission. We maintain strong relationships with local public schools, NYCHA housing communities, park administrators, libraries, and community leaders to assess evolving needs, identify accessible sites, and collaborate on meaningful solutions. Each year, our afterschool youth participate in community service projects across Harlem, supporting food pantries, soup kitchens, churches, and senior residences. Strengthening their sense of belonging and commitment.
Pyper spent the morning packing and distributing food bags and supporting pantry operations at the Cabrini Immigrant Services food pantry, offering both her time and heart to those in need. She assisted in serving over 100 families, reinforcing HJTEP’s commitment to service, leadership, and community responsibility. Being part of HJTEP means being part of something bigger.
Check out how Pyper's morning went!
