Unity Through Play: Our MLK Jr. Day Tennis Clinic
Our West Harlem Tennis Clinic on Martin Luther King Jr. Day marked our largest turnout to date, and the energy throughout the day was inspiring. With more than 200 registrations and over 80 youth and family members in attendance, the clinic became a meaningful celebration of unity, learning, and community connection. We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so memorable.
We are especially grateful to our dedicated coaches, staff, and student-athletes who generously volunteered their time to teach, mentor, and support participants through tennis instruction, fitness activities, hands-on guidance, and plenty of fun. Their leadership exemplifies our belief in learning through play and service.
We were honored to welcome Assemblyman Jordan Wright. As a former HJTEP student-athlete, Assemblyman Wright shared his personal journey and reflected on Dr. King’s enduring legacy, offering our young people a powerful example of leadership rooted in purpose, service, and heart. We are deeply grateful for his continued commitment to HJTEP and for his tireless advocacy on behalf of the Harlem community, truly a legacy in motion.
Special thanks to West Harlem Development Corporation for their generous support, which made it possible for HJTEP to offer this clinic at no cost to families.
Days like this reaffirm our mission and the impact of investing in our young people. Thank you, West Harlem, we look forward to continuing this work together!
