About Tennis Against Obesity (TAO)
HJTEP's Tennis Against Obesity (TAO) program inspires minority, low-income youth to develop a lifelong passion for managing their health and wellness. TAO uniquely integrates tennis, fitness, nutritional education, and healthy decision-making in a fun, hands-on program that motivates students to adopt healthy lifestyle strategies and helps families to support improvements in food choices and activity levels. Since 2009, some 400 low-income TAO youth participants in Harlem have improved their balance, coordination, agility, fitness, food choices, and awareness of the benefits of healthy lifestyle choices.
